Fans haven’t seen “The Ravishing Russian” Lana on WWE television in 2016. In fact, the last time we saw her was the Raw after TLC, a few weeks after she resurfaced during a MizTV segment where she joined Rusev and publicly acknowledged their engagement on-screen.
Lana is still still traveling with WWE, or Rusev if you will. She accompanies her fiancee to the ring at non-televised events, but has vanished from television.
It has been reported that Lana has heat for sabotaging WWE’s angle involving herself, Rusev, Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae. It is my belief that WWE is punishing her for this by having her come to work every week, but not giving her any spotlight.

Can't fault it. Whilst being very pleased for her and her engagement. Whilst this angle was running she should have kept the whole engagement thing in her pocket. She did sabotage a storyline...Big Red Machine wrote:Source: WrestleChat

BUT it's not much of a punishment. "We'll still pay you and you can still travel with your fiancé and you can still sometimes work, just not on TV"
It would be great if she returned to WWE with the League of Nations and just turned her accent off mid-way through a promo berating the crowd for making her lose her way, letting her buy into American-Celebrity culture and encouraging her to post her private life on the Internet, and that she originally started the accent to distance herself from the fact she's a Russian who was brought up in Celebrity and Reality TV loving America and that that She and Rusev were originally setting Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae up because they epitomise that culture.

Shame that's it is not you that thought of it, because usually if you write such things, they soon happen and this scenario would be a massive win.

Lana and Rusev would be bashing American culture, but they'd be bashing a part of American culture that is also disliked by many Americans themselves. WWE has obviously fully embraced this culture, but I think that Lana and Rusev could be seen as babyfaces by a segment on the fanbase in the way that the West Texas Rednecks were in WCW with their dislike of rap music. They'd be representing me and those like me, who want to throw things every time anyone encourages anyone else to follow them on social media.

Hadn't quite thought of that kind of impact. This is much smarter than I originally intended it to be! It would be a joy to watch and it would give Rusev and Lana purpose again, because there's so many superstars that are linked into social media and the celebrity culture and obsessed by it in WWE that it would give Rusev so many more feuds.Big Red Machine wrote:The more I think about his, the more interesting I think it could be.XIV wrote:Can't fault it. You could do an angle where TMZ shoves a camera in their face somewhere o RUsev cut a promo burying TMZ while on TMZ.
