BRM Reviews the 2/22/2017 NXT (great!)

Post by Big Red Machine » Feb 24th, '17, 02:39

#1 CONTENDERSHIP MATCH: Liv Morgan vs. Ember Moon vs. Peyton Royce (w/Billie Kaye)- 5/10
They told a good story with Moon always being kept on the outside, but Moon is both the best and most exciting worker in this match so… yeah.

KASSIUS OHNO VIDEO PACKAGE- good

PETE DUNNE vs. MARK ANDREWS- 8.25/10
Well… that was awesome. This was the first time I can ever remember seeing Mandrews not look like a spot monkey, while Dunne’s “Bruiserweight” nickname has got to be one of the most fitting in wrestling history.

PEYTON ROYCE PROMO- fine, aside from the end, which involved her and Billie Kaye doing that odd bit where they lock hands and hop away that they did in Regal’s office a few weeks ago that was so damn weird.

PATRICK CLARK IS COMING SOON- this did nothing to actually make me excited to see him or make me care about it.

TYE DILLINGER PROMO- good

BOBBY ROODE vs. NO WAY JOSE- 5.75/10
Fun match.

POST-MATCH SEGMENT- good but…
Roode attacks Jose after the match and starts to work over his knee. Kassius Ohno makes his return to NXT to make the save and they have a confrontation and it’s great and all but…
Right before this match Tye Dillinger cut a promo saying that due to them saving him from SAnitY, he would have Roderick Strong and No Way Jose’s backs. So where the f*ck was Tye now that Jose needed him?

A GREAT episode of NXT.

MORE Peyton Royce and Billie Kaye V Asuka?

Yeah, Because that's what I wanna see again.

The hand holding and jumping is definitely their thing now. Pretty sure they've done it several times since that last Takeover.

Again...No Asuka or Sanity?!?

Oh...Just to be clear...Sasha is number 1. Asuka is number 2. A far number two because there is only ONE BOSS, boo.
When they come, they'll come at what you love.

I kind of feel the same way. Royce and Kaye just don't feel like they have potential to be top gals, so having them go against Asuka again and again instead of women like Ember Moon or Nikki Cross, who do feel like they have that top gal potential, is really frustrating.

i've always thought they had top star potential in NXT, but they've taken the tag team soo long that i'm on your guys' side

We all three agree...

I do believe though, call it crazy hunch.... That this is actually a split and a turn coming.

I'm not sure what else there is to gain, and if done right could be huge. Then again I'm probably wrong and they're still gonna get eaten .

Why were either even given another contendership chance in the first place, when speaking of, she ran them both down at once and pinned one last time?

Btw..."top gals!" Should be a thing.

I definitely agree that it's coming, but I don't think it will really help either one of them.

This is undoubtedly post of the year btw.

Though ... I guess it could be possible the one who wasn't pinned by Asuka was in the match and the other wasn't?

I'm not sure what would come from it... I'd honestly just eventually move them up and keep them together. It couldn't hurt SD at all. RAW has Charlotte and Dana.
