NWA Champion Nick Aldis is no longer advertised for the 8/9 Ring of Honor Summer Supercard event in Toronto as Ring of Honor and the National Wrestling Alliance will not be working together going forward, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
NWA Vice President Dave Lagana, who had been producing all of the ROH pre-tapes over the last seven months, finished his commitments with Ring of Honor this past weekend as well.
PWInsider.com is told that the decision was made for each promotion to go their separate ways and that NWA President Billy Corgan intends on putting all his energy towards producing a weekly stand-alone NWA series later this year once he completes the current Smashing Pumpkins tour.
Sources close to each promotion have stated that they have parted ways on amicable terms and the door is open to potentially partner down the line.
The two companies partnered earlier this year on reviving the Crockett Cup, which was won by PCO and Brody King, who remain the NWA Tag Team Champions.

Guerrillas have been fine in their role. Taven has actually had great matches (other than the Cobb match where Delirious screwed them over on time). ROH is a solid B- at this point, but it's not the champions who are necessarily dragging it down.

I wouldn't be able to really get invested in guerrillas since I know they're just there until the end of the g1. I like them more that every other team in roh.Big Red Machine wrote: ↑Jul 24th, '19, 18:30 Guerrillas have been fine in their role. Taven I'm probably one of the only people that liked him before his champion run, but he's not someone that brings me in, and it's not him, but the whole main event scene.
Aldis was at least a really solid promo, decent wrestler, and the nwa title felt more prestigious than the roh title.
At the end of the day, I'm really unmoved by this news, I don't really mind them breaking up or not, I think neither side really benefits from it tho.

More than the Briscoes? Or Brody King & PCO?
Also, the Gresham/Lethal team and any LifeBlood combo are guaranteed to deliver in the ring. Most of the other teams aren't even bad. They're just not really given a chance.

I agree about the main event scene. They have people poised to make the jump who can/will bring people in (Rush, Cobb, Bandido, Marty, heel Dalton Castle). They just have to pull the trigger.

Aldis was a great promo, yes, but that belt never felt like more than prop because the NWA could barely even put on a show without ROH's help. And to say it was more prestigious than the ROH World Title with the level of matches Taven and Lethal were having and the reputation of the champions- ROH World Champions are guys on their way up, the NWA is using a bunch of has-beens and cast-offs- just doesn't compute to me.

ROH benefits by gaining the space back on their shows. Not that I don't want to see James Storm, bu only he and Aldis were really worth anything. Eli Drake, Willie Mack, and everything with the National Title were just wasting ROH's time. And if Cabana goes away with the NWA, I'll consider that a gain for ROH at this point as well.
