wXw We Love Wrestling #8 (4/16/2021)- Oberhausen, Germany
PRETTY BASTARDS INTERVIEW- good
They’re in the middle of talking so they tell the interviewer to wait, but, of course, the cameraman doesn’t shut the camera off. They decide to put their team on Hiatus for a while. I loved the line that Maggot didn’t think Ahura could make it as a singles wrestler because Ahura needs Maggot to wake him up every morning to make sure he gets to the arena on time. These are still the same guys who showed up two years ago.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS ENDER KARA- fine
He’s not cleared to wrestle tonight due to an injury suffered against Bobby Gunns, and thus he can’t complete his Trial Series tonight. Also, he can’t provide for his family. That makes me sad. He is determined that when he gets better, he will prove to everyone that he belongs here in wXw.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS ALPHA KEVIN- This was fine until he claimed that Bubby Rogers was his great-great-grandfather. He faces Vincent Heisenberg tonight.
ALPHA KEVIN vs. VINCENT HEISENBERG (w/Baby Allison)- 2/10
Heisenberg won a short match cleanly.
ANDY JACKSTON INTERVIEWS VINCENT HEISENBERG & BABY ALLISON- great
Andy asks about Heisenberg’s new, more violent side. Heisenberg says that he has learned that brutality is the only way to get attention in wXw. Andy asks what is going on between himself and Baby Allison and he both say that it’s none of Andy’s business. Andy says that he is asking for the fans, to which Allsion responds “what have the fans ever done” for Heisenberg. And what has his trainer ever done for him? They don’t owe the fans answers, or anything else.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS AVALANCHE ABOUT ENDER KARA- decent
He says it’s sad to see him get injured, and the trial series is now on hold. Some other guy came up to Avalanche and humbly asked to be allowed to replace Ender Kara tonight. Avalanche liked the idea and said he’ll take it to the Board of Directors.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS ROTT & FLOTT- meh
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS LEON VAN GASTEREN & TIM STUBING- decent
They’ve decided to team up after their match the other week. Tim is a student of Leon’s, so Andy Jackson immediately asked them about the teacher/student pair currently holding the wXw World Tag Team Titles. “Avalanche” Robert Dreissker and Anil Marik. Leon says that obviously, the tag titles are a goal, but for now, he’s just looking to get his student some experience.
LEON VAN GASTEREN & TIM STUBING vs. ROTT & FLOTT- 6.25/10
Rott & Flott win after Tim accidentally kicks Leon.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS LEON VAN GASTEREN & TIM STUBING- good
Leon says that despite the finish being what it was, he thinks the match went pretty well for their first time teaming together. Andy tells them that Avalanche and Marik were watching their match on the monitor, and they are now coming over here. Avalanche offers them a title shot because he knows they will have a nice clean wrestling match (as opposed to the match where Avalanche and Marik won the titles against Pretty Bastards). Stubing his ready to accept, but Leon tells him they’re not ready. They would, however, like a non-title match against the champs. Perhaps, next week? Avalanche says he’ll take it to the board.
“THE AVALANCHE” ROBERT DREISSKER vs. PARIS BALLIS- 2.5/10
Paris Balis is the guy from before. He’s also the guy from one of the seasons of Shotgun 2020 last year (duh) who could that promo about the sad story of his life, which they reminded us about with a replay here.
Avalanche won a not-very-competitive match in five minutes.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS AVALANCHE- meh
He praises his pupil, Paris, and says that he should be granted a “trial series.”
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS AYTAC- fine
He says he must avenge his loss to The Rotation to maintain the respect of his family.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS THE ROTATION- fine
The Rotation is not worried about his rematch with Aytac… unless he brings Abdul to ringside to cheat for him.
THE ROTATION vs. AYTAC (w/Abdul)- 4.5/10
Abdul caused a distraction, allowing Aytac to work over The Rotation’s knee. The match was good for the time it got, with distractions and The Rotation’s knee being worked over serving as your stories. The finish saw Abdul create a distraction to allow Rambo to run out and shove The Rotation off the top rope to allow Aytac to win.
POST-MATCH SEGMENT- fine
Rambo attacked The Rotation after the match as well, and Johnny Evers came out to make the save. Evers grabbed a mic and cut a promo in not the best English saying that he would be there to fight with The Rotation against these heels who use the numbers game. His intensity was good, but it was one of those promos that would have been better if they had just let him cut it in his mother tongue and subtitled it.
DIE RAUCHERPAUSE INTERVIEW- very good
Maggot was not with the group at the beginning, and Prince Ahura seemed completely disinterested in everything. Bobby Gunns insists that Marius Al-Ani got lucky when he beat him for the wXw Unified World Wrestling Title last week. The announcer pointed out the irony that the only member of the group who currently had a title was Norman Harras, who the others had teased for most of last year for not having one.
Maggot showed up with Baby Allison and Heisenberg. Prince Ahura apparently failed to notify the others that the team had broken up. It was also clear from this segment that no longer being the world champion has made Bobby Gunns no longer feel like a leader to be respected in Prince Ahura’s eyes. They got across all of the necessary points with what felt like the interaction that real humans who have in this situation.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS THE ARROWS OF HUNGARY- decent
They say that they lost to Team France in the tag title tournament because the French got lucky. They will keep going for the tag titles.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS DENNIS “CASH” DULLNIG & HEKTOR INVICTUS- good
Hektor clearly does not want to team with Dennis one bit.
THE ARROWS OF HUNGARY vs. DENNIS “CASH” DULLNIG & HEKTOR INVICTUS- 6.75/10
Once it was clear that Dennis and Hektor weren’t going to work together, the Arrows decided to mock them by giving a slow-demonstration of how to make a tag. This backfired, firing their opponents up and getting them on the same page. The match was very good. It really got me behind the Hektor/Dennis team, and teaming up would probably be a good thing for both them and the division right now.
ANDY JACKSON INTERVIEWS THE ARROWS OF HUNGARY- a fine victory promo
MARIUS AL-ANI’S CHAMPIONSHIP CELEBRATION- great
Marius cut a great promo, then got interrupted by Bobby Gunns, who said he wanted his rematch. They cut promos on each other. Marius wants the rematch to be two out of three falls.
This was a fine post-PPV episode of We Love Wrestling, following up on the events of the big show and setting new storylines in motion.
