WWE Hell In A Cell 2011 (10/2/2011)- New Orleans, LA
#1 CONTENDERSHIP MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Sheamus vs. Christian- 8/10
MARK HENRY PROMO- Good.
SIN CARA vs. SIN CARA- 7.75/10. I probably would have given this an 8 if I had been given a reason to root for either man over the other.
PUNK & OTUNGA BACKSTAGE- Good.
WWE WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH: Air Boom(c) vs. DOLPH ZIGGLER & JACK SWAGGER (w/Vickie Guerrero)- 6/10
HELL IN A CELL MATCH FOR THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Mark Henry(c) vs. Randy Orton- 8.25/10. Nice slow pace here, which worked well for Henry. The aftermath was good, but I didn’t like it, as it builds towards another Orton vs. Henry match, meaning that Sheamus will probably lose next month.
CODY RHODES PROMO- Cody brings back the older, uglier IC Title belt. BOO!
WWE INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE MATCH: Cody Rhodes(c) vs. John Morrison-6.5/10 This whole thing felt like it should have been a segment on Smackdown that leads up to a PPV match, rather than a PPV match itself… an d I have no idea why they had JoMo lose cleanly here. Just have Cody cheat to level the playing field (since he is at a disadvantage) then have a rematch at the next PPV.
BACKSTAGE STUFF- good
WWE DIVAS TITLE MATCH: Kelly Kelly(c) (w/Eve Torres) vs. Beth Phoenix (w/Natalya)- 6/10. Good stuff.
HELL IN A CELL MATCH FOR THE WWE TITLE: John Cena(c) vs. CM Punk vs. Alberto Del Rio- 8.75/10. Cena getting locked out of the cell was pretty creative.
AFTERMATH- AWESOME! All of it!
Overall, an awesome PPV from WWE!

Re: BRM Reviews WWE Hell In A Cell 2011
Okay, forgive me if I'm wrong here BRM, but I always thought the purpose of the old school IC Belt was to look noticeably uglier next to the WWE Championship, hence why the main body of the belt is white and not gold. If the belt is less important, then why use an expensive, precious metal in excess on it? The belt expense rationale was especially present in the old days of WCW, where, during WCW title matches, the commentators made no bones about the fact that the belt was expensive as hell.
The ONE thing I didn't really like about the WWE Title match at this PPV, was that Del Rio was jumped immediately afterwords, to the point where he didn't get to pose with the belt. That makes his title reign feel entirely unimportant, and makes the man himself look like a chump.

Hmm... I'd honestly never thought about it like that.
I see what you are saying, but I think that this sort of thing is one of those times when an exception to that general rule can be made (although, I would have avoided this problem all together by not having Del Rio lose the belt at Night of Champions).NWK wrote: The ONE thing I didn't really like about the WWE Title match at this PPV, was that Del Rio was jumped immediately afterwords, to the point where he didn't get to pose with the belt.
